Why Brighton's consistently a top UK destination for groups
“I’m often asked why Brighton continues to be one of our most popular places for UK group holidays, and honestly it’s because it offers so much for a smaller city. I’ve spent over 25 years here and it still surprises me just how much there is to do in this beautiful city.
You’ve got the obvious attraction of the pebbly beach with beach bars, volleyball and basketball courts, and the famous Palace Pier. On warmer days you’ll see people swimming, paddleboarding and jet skiing, or simply sitting with a drink by the sea as the sunset goes down.
What makes Brighton so attractive for groups is how distinct each area feels. Kemptown is creative, artsy edge and sits by the seafront. The North Laine and Lanes are full of independent shops, cafes and craft pubs, and the Marina is an entertainment hub with a cinema, bowling alley and restaurants. You can move between most just by walking and soaking in the city’s atmosphere.
Add in big annual events like Brighton Fringe and Pride, and there’s always something going on. When you want a change of pace, the South Down and Seven Sisters are a quick bus or train away for incredible walks. It’s that mix of seaside, city and countryside that keeps groups coming back year after year.”

Why book self catering group accommodation in Brighton?
Brighton is one of the UK’s most popular coastal destinations, welcoming millions of visitors each year and attracting huge numbers of overnight stays, festivals and city breaks because it really does have something for everyone. In 2023, Visit Brighton reported that the city recorded over 1.6 million staying trips and 5.5 million nights stayed, with visitor numbers and tourism spend continuing to grow year on year as more people choose longer breaks over day visits. In 2025 alone, we helped thousands of guests stay in Brighton, giving us first-hand insight into what groups value most when choosing where to stay in the city.
Characterful homes with history and location – Many of the accommodation options we offer through Adventure Connects are classic Brighton townhouses dating back decades, full of original detail and character yet updated for comfortable and homely group stays. These large holiday homes often sit within minutes’ walk of our lovely pebbled beach, offering easy access to beach bars, volleyball courts and evening dips in the sea. We also have a handful of big self catering apartments with views of the seafront and Palace Pier.
Holiday homes designed for leisure groups – A key reason bigger groups choose self-catering over hotels is the social space. Large kitchens, dining areas and lounges make it easy to have everyone in one space for food, games and time to connect with each other.
Brighton’s incredibly walkable – Brighton’s compact layout is a really attractive feature for quick visits to the city. You’ll no doubt visit the central shopping hub around Churchill Square and then walk a matter of minutes to the indie culture of North Laine and The Lanes. All roads lead to the bustling seafront just steps away where you’ll find plenty of fish and chips, beach bars, the pier and iconic Brighton i360. If you’re feeling adventurous and keen to complete your daily steps, the seafront promenade offers a lovely walk to the Marina at one end, or Hove on the other. Better still, hire on of the city’s Beryl bikes to cover more ground in less time!
Massive year-round events– From our experience, Brighton has one of the busiest city calendars in the UK and is packed with big events that bring thousands of visitors into the city every year. From Brighton Fringe (with hundreds of shows across May) to Brighton Pride, which attracts an incredible 500,000 people and injects millions into the local economy in just a weekend.
Beyond Brighton for natural beauty – One of the great advantages of staying in Brighton is how easily you can combine city time with the countryside. Within around 30 minutes, you’ll find some of the South East’s most popular walks, including the Seven Sisters coastal path with its dramatic clifftop sea views, and the South Downs, which offer a wide choice of accessible routes straight from the edge of the city. For groups who want to mix beach days, city exploring and fresh-air walks, Brighton makes it easy to do all three in one stay.

FAQs on Brighton Self Catering Accommodation
Where are your Brighton self catering properties located?
Our Brighton self catering accommodation is located across central Brighton and select countryside areas just outside the city. We offer large holiday homes and big group apartments in popular areas such as Kemptown near the seafront and Brighton Marina, as well as around North Laine and London Road, known for independent shops, cafés and nightlife. We also have spacious rural properties within easy reach of Brighton for groups who want more outdoor space without being too far from the action.
Is group accommodation in Brighton better value than hotels?
In many cases, yes. Booking group accommodation in Brighton often works out more cost-effective than reserving multiple hotel rooms, particularly for larger groups. Most of our properties are priced at a fixed rate, allowing the cost to be shared across the group and reducing the price per person as numbers increase. You’ll also benefit from shared social spaces, added privacy and greater flexibility compared to hotel stays.
Do you offer large holiday homes with outdoor space or special features?
We certainly do! To name just a few properties that fit… Just a short twenty minute drive away is The Sussex Lakeside Retreat which has a gigantic outdoors garden area and heated outdoor swimming pool. Outside of the beautiful village of Lewes lies The Noble Oak Country House which not only has loads of landscaped gardens, but a private tennis court for you and your guests. For houses with some extra special touches in the centre of Brighton, The Rabbit Hole Residence is Alice in Wonderland themed, and The Brighton Town Holiday Retreat has a rare decked rooftop terrace.
Do all of your Brighton self catering properties have kitchens?
Yes. All of our Brighton self catering accommodation includes fully equipped kitchens as standard. This gives groups the flexibility to cook meals together, organise shared breakfasts or enjoy relaxed evenings in, which is one of the main reasons groups choose self catering over hotels.
Are your Brighton group properties suitable for celebrations?
Our large group accommodation in Brighton are very well suited for social stays and special occasions, including milestone birthdays, stag and hen weekends. Though it’s important to note they’re not specifically party houses. Many properties are located in residential areas, so guests are expected to be respectful of neighbours and comply with local noise regulations, particularly late at night. This approach ensures a comfortable stay for everyone and helps protect the long-term availability of great group properties in Brighton.
Can we request an early check-in or late check-out?
Early check-in or late check-out is sometimes possible, depending on availability and changeover schedules. We’re always happy to check with the property owner closer to your arrival date, but this can’t be guaranteed. The best time to make this request is during the week of your stay, once we have full visibility of surrounding bookings.
How do I book my Brighton getaway with Adventure Connections?
To secure your Brighton self catering accommodation, a deposit is required at the time of booking, with the remaining balance due 10 weeks before arrival. A refundable security deposit is also taken during the week of your stay and returned after departure, provided the property is left in good condition. With over 25 years’ experience arranging group stays across the UK, our Brighton-based team is on hand throughout to offer advice and ensure everything runs smoothly.
