The Most Booked Stag Locations in the UK
Based on bookings from 2025, Bristol took the crown as the top stag destination in the UK, with beachy Brighton taking the silver medal, closely followed by Oxford & Cotswolds. Sam, our Stag Expert who’s been arranging stag weekends for the last 10 years says:
Bristol just works for stags. It’s got great energy, it’s easy for everyone to get to, and pretty affordable. A lot of our stag houses sit in the countryside between Bristol and Bath, so you can visit either city with ease.
Brighton’s our hometown, and a classic choice. Beach BBQs and volleyball, great local beer scene, and you can walk everywhere in the city without a taxi.
Oxford and Cotswolds are on the up too. Big rural houses with gardens and adventure on the doorstep, yet still close to the city for a big night out. And it’s easily accessible from London.
Most Booked Stag Destinations of 2025
1. Bristol
Bristol is best for: All-rounder; countryside homes close to the city with young and vibrant energy and nightlife scene
In 2025, Bristol accounted for 23% of all our UK stag bookings, making it our popular location in the UK, and it’s so clear to see why. It’s easily accessible from pretty much anywhere in the UK, is actually a pretty affordable city to eat, drink and play in compared to other popular locations like Edinburgh and Brighton. A big plus is that many of our Bristol stag accommodation options are situated in the countryside between Bristol and Bath, so you can visit either city easily.
Where to stay: Cidermaker’s Farmhouse – This gigantic converted farmhouse is in the West Country just 20-25 minutes drive from either Bristol or Bath. It’s kitted out with everything you need for a top tier stag weekend, including a hot tub, massive garden, pool table, and tons of social space.
Popular Activity: Country Farmers Games – This is unique to the Bristol area, so if you’ve ever wondered what would happen if It’s a Knockout had a West Country twist, now’s your chance. Expect ridiculous challenges, inflatable mayhem, and a whole lot of competitive banter. It’s stupidly fun, a proper laugh, and a guaranteed way to get the lads hyped for the rest of the weekend.
Best time to visit: Summer’s hard to beat. July is especially good if you catch the Bristol Harbour Festival – the whole harbourside, from Thekla (a ship that’s also a club) to Underfall Yard, turns into one big waterfront party with live music, boats, street food and plenty going on all day and night.
2. Brighton
Brighton is best for: Beachside energy and bars, and walk-everywhere convenience
In 2025, Brighton was our second most booked UK stag destination, accounting for 15% of all our stag party bookings. It’s a straightforward choice for groups who want a proper night out without overcomplicating the logistics. The city is very compact and you’ll be able to walk around most of it on foot with ease, saving you extra money for bevvies at those beachside bars. Nearly all of our Brighton stag accommodation is located in the centre of the city, close to the North Laine, Churchill Square or seafront, so your base of operations is close to all the best spots.
Where to stay: One of our most popular stag houses is the Brighton Pavilion Gatehouse. It’s a huge townhouse opposite the Royal Pavilion, a 10 minute walk from Brighton Station, and just 5 minutes from the beach and bars in the quirky North Laine. It’s super versatile, has a single bed for every one of the lads and can sleep between 15 and 32 people.
Popular Activity: Hunted in Brighton – This isn’t your average sightseeing tour, it’s a full-throttle manhunt-style chase where you and the lads will be on the run, solving clues, dodging the hunters, and trying not to get caught. It’s fast, frantic, and seriously good fun and typically takes place in the Stanmer Park estate, which is the gateway to the South Downs National Park.
Best time to visit: May through to September is ideal because you’ll want decent weather to make the most of the beach, seafront bars and daytime drinks in the sun. The city’s also buzzing with events during these months, including Brighton Fringe in May, which fills venues across town with comedy, music and all sorts of offbeat performances.
3. Oxford & the Cotswolds
Oxford & the Cotswolds are best for: Big countryside houses that offer rural fun and accessible from London
If your group would rather wake up to countryside views than the sounds of the city, Oxford & the Cotswolds are hard to beat. This area is where our stag groups go for larger rural houses with big gardens, BBQs, hot tubs and space to actually enjoy the weekend together -not just use the place as somewhere to sleep.
Most of our properties are within 30 minutes of Oxford, which gives you flexibility. You can spend the day making the most of the house and nearby outdoor activities, then head into the city in the evening for food, drinks or a night out.
It’s also an easy run from London, which is one of the reasons we believe it’s grown in popularity over the years. Oxford and the Cotswolds took our third spot for most booked UK stag destination in 2025, accounting for 14% of our bookings.
Top Accommodation: Silverwood offers a really great mix of features and comfort, and in an excellent location. It’s next to a prestigious golf club (which is perfect for stags that love a round of golf), but it also has one of the biggest gardens of all our Oxford stag properties. You can do archery on-site, and there’s even a hot tub and table tennis.
Popular Activity: Country Pursuits Multi-Activity Site – This activity is a bit of a stag classic but has so much value. You can book a range of activities including driving rage buggies in the mud, testing your aim with clay shooting, getting dirty with paintball, or going on a quad safari.
Best time to visit: Late spring through summer is ideal, when you can make full use of the big gardens, and light up those BBQs. That said, it’s a solid year-round choice if your focus is a big house weekend rather than a heavy city-based night out.
4. Edinburgh
Edinburgh is by the far the most popular Scottish destination for a stag. It boasts bags of character, top-tier nightlife, and activities that’ll sort the men from the boys. From whisky-fueled nights out to full-blown Highland warrior mode, this city knows how to throw a party.
Top Accommodation: Hexwood Castle – If you’re going big, go full medieval. Hexwood is a 15th century caslte complete with grand halls, roaring fires, and enough space for the whole clan. It’s got that proper old-school charm, but with all the modern comforts, plus, it’s 7 miles from Edinburgh.
Popular Activity: Highland Games – Ready to unleash your inner Scottish warrior? The Highland Games are the ultimate test of strength, skill, and sheer stag-do stupidity. Think tug of war, caber tossing, haggis hurling, and a whole load of banter, all while dressed like an extra from Braveheart.
5. Manchester
Manchester has long reigned as one of the top stag destinations in the UK. World class sports and epic nightlife is the perfect combo for an epic stag do. Whether you’re looking to tear up the town, get competitive, or just sink a few pints in one of its legendary bars, this city doesn’t mess about when it comes to stag weekends.
Top Accommodation: Cygnet House – This modern, stylish stag pad has a rooftop terrace with awesome view and even a hot tub. It’s right near the city centre too meaning you’re never far from the action. Loads of space, sleek interiors, and a spot-on location.
Popular Activity: Bubble Football – Fancy taking five-a-side to absolute chaos levels? Strap yourself into a giant inflatable bubble and prepare for zero skill, maximum mayhem. Expect big hits, hilarious wipeouts, and some of the worst dribbling you’ve ever seen. Let’s be honest, no one’s getting near the ball.
Comparing UK Stag Destinations at a glance
For a quick comparison, we’ve pulled together a table highlighting some of the key factors to think about when deciding your stag destination. It’s a guide rather than a rulebook every group is different, and what suits one stag might not suit another. Some grooms want big nightlife, others would rather keep it low-key, so take this as honest insight from our Stag Experts based on years of planning weekends.
Our Adventure rating reflects the level of outdoor or adrenaline activities nearby, things like canyoning, hiking and watersports. Budget friendliness is a rough average that considers accommodation costs, local travel, food, drinks and activities. Ease of travel looks at how straightforward it is to get there, whether that’s good train links, nearby airports or simple motorway access.
We welcome any questions you have. Choosing where to go on your stag is no easy feat, but we’re here to make it all a lot smoother.

South & South West England Stag Locations

Bath
Bath is a solid choice if you want something a little smarter without losing the fun. It’s one of those good places for a stag weekend where you can do decent food, proper pubs and still turn it up later.
Fun fact: Our Business Development Manager & Head of Marketing have both planned a stag weekend that was spent half in Bath and half in Bristol. The two cities being so close together make for a really versatile stag weekend.

Brighton & Hove
When it comes to Brighton we’re a little bias because Adventure Connections is based here. But hand on our hearts, it’s awesome for a boys trip. Volleyball and BBQs on the beach. Award-winning escape rooms. Tons of incredible craft beers, and it’s only an hour on the train from London.
Expert advice: Just outside of Brighton are some excellent alternative spots you can visit for a morning. Lewes is a traditional village with lots of great pubs, and you can even walk across the South Downs to get there with some cracking views. Grab a few cans and enjoy the views!

London
London’s scale is on another level for a stag weekend in the UK. Whatever you’re into, it exists somewhere in the this metropolitan city. Camden for their markets and rock pubs and dive bars, Shoreditch for edgy clubbing and interactive game bars like Flight Club, Soho for stylish bar hopping, or Bermondsey for the renown boozy beer mile.
Expert advice: London is an awesome stag city, but it also takes a bit of planning. Because it’s so vast, you should have a plan in mind and know where you’re hitting and how far away it is from your accommodation – it can take an hour by tubes to cross London!

The New Forest
If you’re after a location that mixes outdoor adventure with proper countryside charm, the New Forest ticks all the right boxes. Just a short hop from London and the South Coast, this stunning national park is the perfect escape from city life with rolling landscapes, woodland trails, and top-notch country pubs.
Expert advice: There’s an awesome little inflatable waterpark for some seriously silly fun. Or another wet but more relaxed idea is to kayak down a river with a pub pit stop half way for a refreshing pint and traditional pub grub.

Bristol
Bristol has incredible energy and is our most popular location in the UK for a stag party. Fantastic nightlife options, excellent craft beer pubs like Left Handed Giant, and it’s so easy to get to from across the UK.
Expert advice: If we speak to a group and they’re torn between big city vibes and big house weekend in the sticks, we tend to point them towards Bristol as we have a lot of lodges and manors 20-30 minutes away from the city, so they get the best of both worlds.

Bournemouth
Bournemouth is a charming little seaside town with tons more sand than Brighton – in fact it have seven miles of golden sand! It packs some big nightlife activity for a smaller city. It’s also got the New Forest on your doorstep, and an awesome little outdoor activity site for competitive games like bubble football, archery, clay shooting and quad biking.
Expert advice: Bournemouth is a great alternative seaside city to Brighton, and slightly more affordable in our opinion. If you can’t stand walking on pebbles, don’t go to Brighton, choose Bournemouth for your stag weekend.

Devon
Devon is a strong choice if you want coastline, space and something a bit different from the usual city-based stag do. Whether you’re heading to North Devon for surf beaches like Croyde and Woolacombe, or down towards East Devon near the Jurassic Coast, you’re getting big scenery, fresh air and proper house-based weekends.
Expert advice:Devon works best when you lean into it. Book somewhere with views, plan a surf session or coastal walk, and treat the house as your HQ for the weekend rather than just somewhere to sleep.

Cotswold & Oxford
Oxford and the Cotswolds have been growing in popularity with stag groups, largely because they’re so easy to get to from most parts of England. We’re increasingly hearing that stags want a more rural house for their stag do, but a short cab ride away from a city. Oxford and the Cotswolds delivers exactly this.
Expert advice: If you’re doing Oxfordshire, do it properly and book a summer weekend with plenty of garden space and a decent BBQ setup. Make the most of the greenery and sunshine during the day, then head into Oxford for a good ol’fashioned pub crawl in the evening.
Are there any stag do locations with unique or unusual experiences?
Absolutely! Head to Snowdonia for adrenaline-pumping activities like the world’s fastest zip lines and high ropes inside a cave. Or try some epic watersports in Brighton for a totally unique adventure by the sea.
