          The Sten / Hag Party

Originally stag and hen parties were a send off from the best men / bridesmaids into married life and were meant to be spent separately to experience the last night of single life. However nowadays the stag and hen tend to be from the same friendship group with both genders wanting to be a part of both occasions, so why not combine the two? At the end of the day it comes down to a personal choice, if you both share a keen interest in something, like festivals or water sports, then a Hag weekend is the perfect answer, but if you like the traditional way or fancy something a bit different to your partner then just go for the separate party, it is supposed to be about you after all!

The Sten party has recently become a popular event in the run up to the wedding and what’s more romantic than seeing the happy couple staggering home after a long night out on the town?! Nowadays getting married is a free choice so to some people it may seem a little weird celebrating single life and with most couples spending the majority of their time together why would they spend potentially one of the best nights of their lives apart?

On the other hand there is plenty of other nights to spend together after the wedding so why shouldn’t you let your hair down and celebrate your “final night of freedom” with your best men / women?! Most stag and hens are completely different anyway, with the majority of hens having a spa day and stags on a pub crawl; these activities tend not to go down well for the opposite gender! Furthermore this decision may not even be in your hands! With most stags feeling like marriage is the exit of “the wolf-pack” they may feel as if it is their party and they will insist that there be no females on the night and vice versa for the hen party…
