The Shropshire Outlook is a stunning countryside retreat sleeping 16-18 guests, set among the rolling hills of Shropshire with far-reaching views that will have you smiling in awe the moment you arrive. Spread across eight bedrooms with a wood-fired hot tub, games room, log burner, and a fully equipped kitchen, this is a property designed for groups who want ample space, supreme comfort and somewhere you will want to come back to again.
Whether you’re organising a countryside break away with friends, going on holiday with your extended family, or having a more relaxed hen, stag or birthday celebration, The Shropshire Outlook has the space and the setting to make it really special. Dog-friendly and with parking for up to eight cars, it’s as practical as it is impressive.
An additional two-bedroom studio is also available to hire alongside the Lodge, taking the total capacity to 18.
Tucked into the Shropshire countryside near the historic market town, The Shropshire Outlook is a beautifully presented group retreat sleeping up to 16 guests across eight bedrooms. With panoramic countryside views, generous indoor and outdoor social spaces, and a thoughtful range of features throughout, this is a special property that is praised for both it’s home away from home feeling.
The lodge offers eight bedrooms across two floors. On the ground floor, five king-size bedrooms provide the bulk of the sleeping accommodation, four of which have their own en-suite shower rooms. The fifth is positioned next to a large, fully wheelchair-accessible wet room complete with a shower chair, making The Shropshire Outlook an inclusive choice for groups with varying accessibility needs.
Upstairs, the layout is more playful and flexible with six single beds spread across open-plan spaces, with a curtain divider available for added privacy, and a bathroom serving the upper floor. Two of the single beds can be joined to make a king if needed. Please note the upper floor involves a steep spiral staircase and has restricted head height. Quality bed linen and towels are provided throughout.
At the heart of the lodge is an open-plan living and dining area which is flooded with natural light. The kitchen is fully equipped for cooking for groups. The dining area features a large table with plenty of seating, and the space opens into a warm and comfortable lounge anchored by a log burner and underfloor heating. From this area, you have impressive views of rolling Shropshire countryside stretching out as far as the eye can see.
Just off the dining area, a dedicated games room adds another exciting and entertaining layer to your stay. A full-size pool table, table tennis, air hockey, darts and giant Connect 4 are all on hand, alongside a 42″ smart TV with an Xbox One, Blu-ray player and Netflix access. You may be in a remote location, but there’s all the fun you need right here at the lodge.
The outdoor space matches the ambition of the interior. A raised deck with outdoor dining furniture and a BBQ area is perfect for al fresco evenings, with an outdoor kitchen complete with sink and fridge alongside it. The private garden has loads of room and an impressive wood-fired hot tub with those Shropshire views as a backdrop. You’ll likely spend hours here taking everything in. A firepit rounds out the outdoor offer, along with sun loungers.
For groups needing a little extra space, the Studio is a self-contained one-bedroom property situated on the same site as the main lodge, sleeping an additional two guests. It has its own fully equipped kitchen, open-plan lounge and dining area, private garden with outdoor seating and BBQ, and an en-suite bathroom with both a walk-in shower and a deep bath. If you’d like to also include the Studio in your booking, just let us know and we can include this in the price.
The Shropshire Outlook is dog-friendly, welcoming up to two well-behaved dogs per group – please note there is an additional fee for each dog. A dog shower is available on the ground floor. For equestrian guests, a stable with paddock access can be arranged for one medium-sized horse with advance notice. Parking is available on site for six to eight cars, and an EV charger is also on hand.
