Teambuilding - Commercial Break

Welcome to the billion-dollar world of advertising - extraordinary budgets, exotic locations and glamorous models. Guests will compete to write, direct, film and star in their very own television adverts, inventing strap lines, USP's, gimmicks and slogans…
Guests will be formed into production teams and must use their imagination to produce a video in which they all star!

We provide an array of costumes and props, along with wigs and accessories, to aid the teams with their creativity and final production. The event culminates with an Oscar ceremony where the finished adverts are screened and awards are given for everything from Best Director to Best Comic Actress. Emotional acceptance speeches, tears, laughter and a great deal of back-slapping bring the event to a close.

Commercial Break lets your delegates experience the fascinating world of TV advertising as they create an award-winning ad from initial brief to final screening. The commercial can promote your own company, products or services; poke fun at your competitors; or deliver powerful internal messages on teamwork, values or customer service. This fun and engaging experience is a great way to reinforce your conference goals by getting your delegates to think about, and interpret, the messages themselves.

 

Delegates are split into smaller 'agencies' that are given the same brief or a range of objectives to cover different messages. The agencies then have to develop a strategy, storyboard and script before moving on to production. They are provided with all the equipment, from cameras to clapperboards, required to get the idea on screen and the skills to make it happen including make-up and acting lessons. As with the real advertising world, management of time, people and resources will be critical to success.

Commercial Break encourages participants to work closely together whilst utilising all their creative, strategic and project management skills. An awards ceremony tops off the experience where advertising excellence is rewarded and celebrated.

 

VENUE REQUIREMENTS
This event is designed to take place indoors with each team having their own syndicate room for planning and rehearsing. A separate room is ideally required for props and costumes. Filming can take place indoors and outdoors.
