Have you ever watched the X-factor and thought: I could do better than that? Or fancied having a go at Pop Idol? The nerves and embarrassment factor are enough to discourage most people. But there’s another way to have your own X-factor experience in a safe and supportive context. And it’s a lot more fun.

The answer is a musical experience day out. There are lots of music-focus experience options out there, but for now let’s consider just two of them here:

The Pop Song Party

The Pop Song Party can be organised as an experience or activity day out with friends or work colleagues. Also, it could be ideal as a hen or stag party experience. You get to record a song in a real studio, with all the trimmings of pop stardom. Everything is laid on for you to make it an easy and enjoyable experience.

This is what happens when you go for the Pop Song Party experience, which is suitable for a group of eight or more people: on arrival at the venue your party will be met by a studio engineer, who will assist you with recording your song. First, you get to choose a backing track and then record your vocals in a vocal booth. This is where you really feel like a pop star, doing your own thing, in a real studio with fancy microphone and accoutrements that some of us only see on TV. You have a choice of doing your song together as a group or taking turns to sing different parts of the song.

Next, you get to join the engineer at the mixing desk to add vocal effects, change the volume of the vocals and be as creative as you want. The track will then be mastered and a CD will be created for every member of your group to take home. You can play the CD to your heart’s content, and share it with family and friends.

The Pop Video Party

For the Pop Video Party, you get together with your buddies and arrive at a studio: there will be a team of professionals looking after you through the whole experience. You get help with choreography, setting of props, make up, styling and all the ingredients which go into making a pop video. You pick a theme for dressing up such as Pop Divas, Rock Chicks, or Disco Queens. The whole experience is then filmed and edited for you. Three weeks later you will receive copies of the edited DVD with a customised cover and photo stills of your performance printed on the disc. How cool is that! Most likely you will want to get your buddies together again to watch and relive the experience, or show off to family and friends.

These two experiences are tailored to let you have all the fun and enjoyment without the embarrassment and pressures of the X-factor, and you’ll have the CD or pop video to enjoy for as long as you want. Whether your experience is with buddies from work, or a hen or stag party, you’ll have a great fun day out and great memories to treasure.
