Time for Bed?

Published on Mar 15, 2011

Have a girl’s night in!

“What do I wear in bed? Why, Chanel No. 5, of course” – Marilyn Monroe

March is National Bed Month and therefore the ideal time to think about that hen weekend away you’re organising and where you’re going to sleep each night.

If you’re planning to be really active during the day and stay out as late as possible into the night, then you’ll just want somewhere to lay your head. So a hotel right in the city centre is probably going to suit you. You’ll be right in the heart of the action so you can cram as much into your hen weekend as possible.

On the other hand, it may be a more relaxing weekend you’re looking for where the pace is altogether a bit slower. You might really like the idea of escaping the hustle and bustle of daily life and making the hen weekend the perfect excuse to take some proper ‘down-time’. In which case, there’s a fabulous selection of self catering accommodation where you really control how much or how little you do.

Pyjama Parties are accepted here

The house will be yours for the weekend so if you want to have a ‘girls night-in’, where you just relax, hang around in your pyjamas and catch-up with your girlfriends, then that’s okay. Get up and have a leisurely breakfast in the house – you’re not restricted to the hotel breakfast times. Then you’re all set for whatever the day has in store.

Whether you choose to take part in a dancing lesson, learn a new skill such as chocolate making or something altogether more action-packed such as quad biking, after the exertions of the day you can come back to the house, shut the door and do what you want. Choose to cook your own meals or catering can be arranged to turn up on your doorstep.

Home from home

Hiring a self catering house will be like being home from home. Although how many of us aren’t actually fortunate enough to live in a house with its own swimming pool or private jacuzzi like some of the luxury houses available for hen parties!?
