          The Ultimate Guide to Summer

Summer. The time to lay back and relax. Whether it be on a tropical island or here in piteous Britain, everyone loves the summer. However due to the not-so-recent credit crunch holiday makers have been left stranded at home for yet another year and this guide will explain how to spend your time in the sunshine in the most exciting way with a low-cost budget.

          Water sports

What better way is there to avoid the heat than getting wet! Learn how to sail your own boat or maybe ride the waves behind one! Water sports are becoming increasingly popular in the UK and provide a positive for the lack of sunshine and gale force winds! However, if the sun does appear, you can be topping up the tan and getting fit at the same time, so everyone is constantly in high spirits! There is a range of water sports out there so there is something for everyone!

If you fancy something that’ll test your skill and pump your adrenaline wakeboarding or windsurfing will be the thing for you! Where as if it’s something a little less dramatic that you crave, maybe canoeing or stand up paddle boarding is the way forward…

          Dance Lessons

I think it’s everyone’s desire to become a dancer, or at least a good enough dancer to save the cheeks from blushing… Whether it’s Latin, street, salsa or burlesque that you’re interested in, there is no other activity quite like it. So why not spend your summer days getting your groove on, with dance lessons all over the country, there is no excuse as to why you shouldn’t be the next Michael Jackson!

          The Beach

Beach. That one monosyllabic word that gets everyone’s eyes widening. With the sun, the sea and the sand it is THE place to be this summer and every summer for that matter! With constant entertainment throughout the day and no fees why would you not want to spend your beloved time off at the seaside!

          Adventure Connections’ top 5 beaches:

          Blackpool Sands – Dorset

          Brighton Beach – Brighton

          Crantock Beach – Newquay

          Bournemouth Beach – Bournemouth

          Porthmeor Beach – St Ives

          Picnics

If you don’t live near a beach then no need to get upset! Why not make a couple of sandwiches, grab the cricket set and round up the family for a well needed reunion in the sun! Find the nearest park and set up base, the girls can have a gossip and sunbathe whilst the guys break a sweat running around chasing a ball!

          Camping

Who’s saying you need to go home after the picnic? Bring your tent, take a couple of disposable BBQ’s and set up camp! There’s nothing better than a night under the stars with the people you love most, add a couple of drinks and marshmallows and you have yourself the ideal summer weekend!

          Treasure Hunts

Perfect for a sunny Saturday afternoon, treasure hunts are great fun for the kids, rummaging around the forests searching for any clues to lead them to the golden treasure! However, if you think you’re a little too mature for a hunt then why not go pro? Book an expert treasure hunt equipped with mountain bikes, ribs and helicopters!

          Volleyball

You don’t have the funds for a holiday but that doesn’t necessarily mean that you can’t enjoy the sand! Thanks to the 2012 olympics (and the olympic team) Britain has gone volleyball mad! With hundreds of new courts being set up all over the country, the sport has become increasingly popular and is a great past-time that keeps the adrenaline flowing!
