As a Christmas party planner you would have thought our party would be the best xmas party ever – and you would have been right!
After organising the xmas party (a little late in all honesty, we have been a bit busy planning other company’s) we opted for a dual theme Christmas event in Brighton – Hove actually!
The girls (being addicted to the finest things in life) decided it would be a good idea to have a formal Black Tie dress event. Of course this was a shallow effort to cover up the fact they all wanted to buy new dresses and make a big fuss for the Christmas Party. This also meant the guys needed to dust off their 007 suits and prepare for a decadent night of drinks and dancing.
So kicking off on arrival we had a champagne reception, just to relax into the evening at the Christmas venues bar, we were then invited to enter the party, which was tastefully themed with white a red drapes, Christmas tree’s and Christmas table decorations. A good effort with the decorations and lighting!
The Christmas evening menu had options, but I think we’re all carnivorous and opted for the traditional roast turkey, starters, some opted for Goat’s cheese salad or home made soup and for pudding, chocolate log or a ginger Fool, of course mince pies and coffee’s etc were plentiful.
It’s show time….
Now we had not quite expected an alternative themed Christmas carol to be different, and for some reason it was quite bizarre! Having a cast of 16 on stage with back stage hands the xmas cabaret show was a full on dancing and singing spectacle.
Full grown adults singing their favourite Christmas songs with healthy participation from the audience was a great way to start the show. The bizarre part was the costumes, one part had the carols singers singing whilst wearing different types of drinks on their heads and a variety of colourful costumes!
All in all, if you entered the evening with the Christmas Party spirit then a good time was had!
Now everyone loves Elvis, and our Christmas Elvis was simply brilliant, he knew how to get a party going with the infamous favourites only an Elvis tribute act can provide.
The event went from strength to strength with plenty of dancing, or certainly some of it looked vaguely like dancing.
The night was a fabulous success and we are all looking forward to the next office Christmas party in 09!
