The Imposters Private Dining Experience at Brighton Pavilion Gatehouse

          Published on Oct 21, 2025

On Wednesday 15th October, the Brighton Pavilion Gatehouse swapped suitcases and sleepovers for secrets and suspicion as we hosted our first post-Covid event; The Imposters Dinner Experience. Inspired by the hit BBC show The Traitors, the evening was a mix of dining, deception, and drama, co-hosted by Office Christmas and ourselves, with immersive entertainment from West End Events and catering by Dine Indulge.

We turned the Gatehouse into a candle-lit dinner venue for the night, setting the stage for an evening where newly formed alliances between strangers were put to the test over bubbles and a sumptuous three course British feast.

          Prosecco, Plots & First Suspicions

Welcome reception in the split-level dining room

We welcomed guests with glasses of prosecco and an air of anticipation as they were led to mingle in the split-level living room with their fellow faithfuls and, though they didn’t yet know it, a few imposters too.

The living area had been transformed for the occasion with rich orange-red uplighters casting a dramatic glow across the room, setting the mood for an evening full of twists and turns. We also couldn’t invite a bunch of journalists and content creators to a traitors-inspired event without providing the opportunity to don a black hooded cloak and capture their best Traitors-style portraits before the games began.

After a brief welcome our own Claudia Winkleman-esque compère took to the floor to introduce the evening and explain what lay ahead. Guests were each handed a secret sealed scroll before being led one by one into the dining room – a long, narrow space bathed in candlelight and haze, with amber uplighting and a grand table running the length of the room.

From townhouse dining table to mysterious banqueting hall, and with that, the deception began.

A Banquet Dinner and Deathly Deception

Three course seated dinner in the dining room with live imposters performance

The narrative unfolded between courses, as our hosts guided guests through a series of twists, challenges, and revelations – we won’t diverge too much for fear of spoiling the Imposters Christmas Party. The faithfuls and imposters had to stay sharp, as every word, every look, and every laugh could hide a clue, or a lie.

By the end of the night, new friendships had formed, and been broken just as quickly as they began…

Dinner was catered by Dine Indulge, a long-time Adventure Connections partner who delivered a smooth and standout service.

For starters, guests were served garlic prawns or mushrooms, with red pepper and paprika cream sauce. The main event was either a roasted chicken breast and pulled thigh with mustard and lemon gravy, or feta and walnut stuffed hasselback butternut squash, both served with roast new potatoes, carrot and orange puree, and sugar snaps.

As a final treat, guests tucked into either a treacle tart with clotted cream, or an avocado chocolate mousse both topped with caramelised pecan crust.

Between delicious courses came moments of truth, betrayal, laughter, and inevitably, a little dramatic death. It was immersive, interactive, and above all, enormous amounts of fun.

          A Townhouse Venue with Versatility

Black traitors-inspired capes and photo corner

The Brighton Pavilion Gatehouse is known as one of the largest self-catering townhouses in Brighton accommodating anywhere from groups of 15 up to 32 people in single beds. We wanted to showcase just how effortlessly the Gatehouse can transform into a character-filled venue for a dinner party in the heart of the city.

It’s the perfect alternative space for meetings and dinner parties, with the option to add on in-house catering by professional chefs, and even some light live entertainment. All of course with the option to add-on overnight accommodation. So if you’d like to chat about how the Gatehouse can meet your event requirements, get in contact with us here.

A Faithful End to a Night of Betrayal

As the final toasts were raised and the last secrets revealed, one thing was clear – the evening was a huge success.

Did it run exactly how wanted it to? Absolutely not. We got a bit too excited with the haze machine and set the smoke detector off (oops).

But did the guests leave with smiles on their faces and bellies full of delicious food? Most definitely!

For us, it was an exciting opportunity to show what the Brighton Pavilion Gatehouse can do beyond large group stays (or as part of one), and a reminder that it’s not just a place to sleep, but a place to celebrate, collaborate, and create unforgettable experiences.

A huge thank you to our brilliant partners West End Events for the immersive entertainment, Dine Indulge for the incredible catering, and Office Christmas for helping us bring the idea to life. And of course, to our wonderful guests for diving into the narrative with such enthusiasm. We genuinely don’t think we could have had a better groups of people to join us.

We can’t wait to host more events at the Gatehouse in the new year, hopefully with fewer lies and murders…
