The Northumbrian Lodge is a laid-back group getaway spot tucked right in the heart of Allendale – ideal for friends, families, walkers, and celebration crews alike. With 7 bedrooms, space for up to 18 guests, and plenty of communal areas, it’s the kind of place where you can cook, chill, party or explore – all under one roof.
The large open-plan living space, outdoor hot tub, games room, and peaceful garden make it perfect for everything from chilled reunions to lively weekend getaways. With pubs, walking trails, and the North Pennines on your doorstep, there’s no shortage of ways to spend your days – or your nights.

The Northumbrian Lodge has been designed with groups in mind. Whether you’re gathering mates for a weekend away, celebrating something big, or just escaping the city with family, the space feels relaxed and flexible. There’s plenty of room to spread out – or pile in for drinks, games, and dinner all together.
Laid-back living areas
The ground floor centres around a spacious open-plan layout, making it easy for everyone to hang out in the same space. You’ve got comfy sofas for late-night chats or lazy mornings, a big dining table that seats everyone, and a games room (complete with a Wii console, air hockey table, dart board and pool table) when it’s time to unleash some competitive energy.
Well-equipped kitchen for big meals
The kitchen is fully loaded with everything you need to cook up a storm – think multiple ovens, a microwave, big fridge, freezer, and even a dishwasher to make life easier after mealtimes. It’s ideal whether you’re going full Sunday roast mode or just sorting snacks and a few bottles of fizz.
Comfy and practical bedrooms
There are seven bedrooms in a mix of doubles, singles and bunks – there are 20 beds in total. They’re perfect for big groups with different sleeping setups and come with plenty of space for travel cots or bags. With 8 bathrooms in the house, there is no need for queuing!
Fresh air and outdoor space
Out back, you’ll find a sun terrace, garden, and barbecue area – great for laid-back summer evenings or wrapping up warm around a firepit in the cooler months. The outdoor hot tub is a real highlight too, especially after a long walk or a night in the pub.
Right in the centre of Allendale
Step out the front door and you’re bang in the middle of Allendale town. There’s a choice of local pubs, cafes, a play park, and walking trails all within a short stroll. The North Pennines, Hadrian’s Wall, and Hexham are nearby for day trips, and if you’re into festivals, Allendale throws a few cracking ones throughout the year – including the famous Tar Barrel Festival at New Year.

Booking Information
To secure your booking at The Northumbrian Lodge, you will need to pay a small deposit. The remaining final balance will be due 8 weeks before your booking date.

Please note there is a mandatory security deposit due 1 week prior to your check-in.
What is a security deposit and how does it work?
A security deposit is a good behaviour bond that is ring-fenced in your account on the week that you check-in. The security deposit is to encourage guests to keep the property clean and tidy and leave it as it is found. It’s also to deter any damages or noise complaints.
Providing there are no damages or complaints, the funds ring-fenced in your account will be automatically released back to you 7-10 days after check-out. You will be sent further information regarding the security deposit post-booking.
