Old School Sports Day is a throwback group activity packed with classic races, team spirit and plenty of laughs.
We all remember the days when we competed in the yearly school sports wearing our very best pumps and green bib. Running as fast as we could to get extra points for our teams and achieving hero status with our friends. There was nothing quite like the feeling of being asked to join the rest of the team on stage in assembly to raise the trophy.
Well here is the chance to revisit that moment or for those who never took stage at the end it is their moment to shine. This school sports day, activity incorporates all the games that we loved to hate.

About School Sports Day
This activity will have you cheering like you’re in Year 6 all over again. It’s light-hearted, inclusive and perfect for groups who want something active and fun. The games are designed to be inclusive, so no matter your age or fitness level, you’ll find something to enjoy.
You’ll kick things off with a safety briefing and team selection, where you’ll be split into four colour-coded “houses” and given a team name. Then it’s onto the track for a relay-style format where everyone gets a chance to join in. No pressure if you’d rather sit one out. It’s all about having fun, getting involved and reliving those school day memories.
How to Play School Sports Day
Your activity coordinator will guide you through each race, acting as referee and cheerleader. The session lasts around an hour depending on group size and which pacakge was chosen and includes all the equipment, bibs and setup you need. You’ll play a mix of classic school-style games, ending with a crowd-pleasing Tug of War. There’s even the option to add a quiz for groups who want a little extra fun (available on request.)

- Egg ‘n’ Spoon Race: But not with your ordinary egg, balance oversized eggs on giant spoons!
- Tug of War: Teams compete in a showdown in an exhilarating battle of strength
- Sack Race: Grab a sack, jump in and bounce your way to victory
- Hockey: A fast-paced, teamwork-driven game
- Relay Race: Pass the baton and leave your competitors in the dust
- 10 Legged Race: Legs bound together, teams have to hop in sync
- Bean Bag on the Head Race: This will have you ducking, diving and dodging!
- Skipping Race: Hop, skip and race to the finish
- Space Hopper Race: Jump and hop on your trusty orb
- Wheelbarrow Race: Teamwork makes the dream work!
- Hula Hoop Race: Keep that hoop spinning your way through the course
