Topping the polls of the most popular activities this spring are the Adventure Connections Country Pursuits packages. Taking place in spectacular countryside surroundings, these sports aren’t for the faint hearted. You can undertake single activities or combine a group of activities into a fabulous mix and match weekend of all things country. Packages are suitable for groups of friends shooting for the first time as well as being perfect for corporate groups.
Adventure Connections offers a wide range of activities classed under the Country Pursuits banner and top if the league is Clay Pigeon Shooting. Adventure Connections offers an impressive range of clay pigeon shooting across the UK including the finest country resorts offering a timed experience with unlimited clays through to multi activity venues that offer an introduction to the sport with a set amount of clays.
Other Country Pursuits include Quad Biking that can either take place on custom-built off-road tracks or on a bike safari course that involves going on designated tracks, through woods, farmland or forests. Adventure Connections access to the best quad bike obstacle courses which involve skill and finesse to complete the course without penalties; these can be used with very slow speeds to improve confidence before trying some harder obstacles or transferring to a track or safari course.
Most Quad Biking sites offer multi-activities and usually those going in for what can be a seriously muddy experience mix the course with a selection of other activities. These include 4 x 4 off-road driving: hovercraft flying; off-road go-karting and dirt buggies; archery; axe and knife throwing; air gun and sniper shooting; paint balling; obstacle courses; survival and boot camp.
For further adrenalin-pumping fun Adventure Connections also offers Max Cats, these are six-wheel drive, skid steer, stick controlled, amphibious, 500cc, mini tanks with minds of their own!
And have you heard about Powerturns? Well, imagine a vehicle with no steering wheel, two engines that wheelie spin on the spot and power slide round corners. This
Exhilarating and requires communication between the two drivers who each have one of the two engine controls.
The Powerturn is a completely new type of driving experience requiring communication between the two drivers who each have one of the two engine controls. Its two drive wheels are ‘powered’ at different speeds by two engines to make the Power turn ‘turn’. It is also the first vehicle that anyone can wheelie safely around corners and can often be driven round a track quicker than a conventionally steered vehicle. You can move through more angles with more speed than anything else you can control yourself, and your body soon works out that this is something very different. The extra movement dimension, acceleration and cornering provides greater excitement all at lower speeds than many conventional vehicles.
Controlling a Powerturn is much more of a challenging and rewarding experience than turning yet another steering wheel or pair of handlebars and most people pick it up quite quickly. As the weight of the vehicle sits on its two drive wheels, traction is superb and with knobbly tyres, it can be used even in very slippery or muddy conditions.
