Hen Weekends Give Stags A Run For Their Money

Hens move into competitive, adrenalin-drenched weekend activities.

Adventure Connections; Sussex; June 2009: You'd be forgiven for thinking that the traditional Hen Celebration consists of a day at the local Spa in preparation for the Big Night Out! Well, not so, according to the latest half year figures from Adventure Connections, the South's favourite Stag and Hen Party organiser.

Going by the number of certified bookings the company has taken from January through to June this year, it seems that increasingly Hens are leaving their mud packs in the steam room and venturing out into activities that hundreds of stags have enjoyed.

"We are increasingly seeing a move away from the traditional Stag and Hen party celebrations," says Adventure Connections MD Justin Sayers. "So that means that the Stag and Hen Party is now usually a weekend affair and both want to seriously have a good fun and productive time, often doing activities that they haven't done before."

While the more traditional supreme pampering experience is still very popular, there is a slight upward trend in Hen bookings towards a more competitive, adrenalin-approach range of activities.

All women bookings have increased on activities such as adrenalin-approach range of activities, Clay Shooting and Archery,Mountain Bike Treasure Hunts, Grand Prix karting challenges, Power Boat Racing and White Water Rafting.

"Compared to what it used to be, the Hen Party is virtually unrecognisable," continues Sayers. "Now the Hen Party tends to be a weekend affair and in that time Hens look to experience a number of activities that they haven't experienced before.

"While outdoor competitive team activities are on the rise for daytime activities, Making Your Own Pop Video, Pop Song and Cheerleading weekends are still top of the Hen activity league table. These activities take care of the Saturday daytime and finish just in time for Hens to get ready for a night out. Then we see Sundays as tending to be the traditional chill and pamper days. Naturally each Hen Group is different, but the point is, whatever Hens want to do, whether it be an superior quality off-the-shelf package or a tailor-made weekend that is planned specifically for your particular group, Adventure Connections can help."
