Manor House - Sleeps 16 to 20
This Tudor Manor House is spread over three floors with oak-beamed ceilings, panelled rooms, and a croquet lawn. There are 8 double bedrooms, large kitchen and kitchen annexe, 4 bathrooms (2 with bath, WC and basin, 2 with modern shower, WC and basin) and 3 reception rooms. Many of the rooms are oak paneled.
Ground Floor
Dining room with large dining table to seat 12 (has seated 18!) and a stereo system with amplifier, CD player and radio. TV room with colour TV, DVD player and piano. Kitchen with large old working fireplace, table which seats 12, AGA, microwave, larder fridge and exceptional views of 8 miles of countryside. Kitchen annexe with fridge/freezer, dishwasher, electric cooker and washing machine. Cloakroom with basin, WC and shower.
First Floor
- Bedroom 1: Double bedroom with oak panelling and a four poster bed (small but long 4' double)
- Bedroom 2: Twin bedroom hung with old prints
- Bedroom 3: Twin bedroom with beams and armour chest! There is also a 'Z' bed in this room
- Bedroom 4: Double bedroom (smaller)
- Bedroom 5: Double bedroom with adjacent ironing room (airing cupboard and tumble dryer). There is also a 3' divan in this room
- Bathrooms: Two bathrooms with WC, basin and bath, one with constant hot water, the other with immersion heater. Third bathroom with WC, basin and electric shower
Second Floor
- Bedroom 6: Large bedroom with a double bed and a divan
- Bedroom 7: Smaller bedroom with twin beds
- Bedroom 8: Top bedroom with twin beds and a divan
The Edwardian Wing of the Manor House - Sleeps 4 to 6
Originally built as a cow-shed, the Wing was converted in 1911 to make a drawing room and library for the main house. It covers a very large area with parquet polished floors and domed ceilings. The whole effect is very striking with mahogany doors and an elegant fireplace. The rooms are inter-connecting and therefore not suited to all. The passage that used to connect these rooms to the main house has been converted into a kitchen, bathroom and WC. Generally it has an 'Edwardian' atmosphere of elegance.
Accommodation
The Wing comprises of a large L-shaped room which has a dining area with bay windows and a living area centred around an attractive fireplace with a wood-burning stove and various furniture including 2 divans which can be used as sofa beds and a double bed that folds up into the wall. There is a music centre, colour TV and radio. A DVD player is available on request.
The smaller room is furnished with a double divan base. The two mattresses can be joined to make a super king. The TV can also be used in this room. The front door is in this room.
The kitchen is equipped with fitted units, electric cooker, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer, electric kettle, iron, coffee machine and toaster. There is a back door from the kitchen into the garden.
The bathroom has a bath, wash basin and shaver point, and also an electric-fitted shower unit with shower curtain. The WC is beyond, separated by a sliding door and is actually in what used to be the 'priest-hole' behind the fireplace in the main house!
Rental of the Wing includes use of the indoor heated swimming pool and sauna/jacuzzi.
Tudor View - Sleeps 4 to 7
The Tudor View is a spacious and well-furnished cottage all on one floor. It boasts exceptional views - from one side you can see the Tudor House and garden and from the other side you can see about 8 miles of countryside.
Accommodation
The sitting room has those lovely views, an attractive open fireplace and comfortable three piece suite which includes a bed settee. There is a music centre, colour TV and radio. A DVD player is available on request.
The kitchen/dining room has an electric cooker, dishwasher, washing machine, tumble dryer, fridge/freezer, microwave, electric kettle, iron, coffee machine, toaster, radio and dining room table.
Two Bedrooms - one double room king size bed with a bed settee and one twin room with two divans, plus single comfortable Z bed. Both have wash hand basins with hot and cold water. Although the two bedrooms are interconnecting, the large bedroom has an access door from the terrace.
The bathroom has w.c., bath and wash basin and shaver point. There is a good mixer shower over the bath. There is also a cloakroom with w.c. and wash basin.
Rental of the Tudor View includes use of the indoor heated swimming pool and sauna/jacuzzi.
Mounts View with private sauna - Sleeps 10 to 12
This is a stunning cottage in the grounds of the manor house and it is an eco friendly house with full insulation and double glazing. It has solar panels to heat the hot water and a state of the art septic tank that discharges only clean water! The cottage has 5 double bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, good kitchen and exceptional sitting room with dining alcove and brilliant views.
The view from the very large terrace outside Mounts View is quite exceptional - you see a large field and beyond that eight miles of splendid countryside. There are flower beds and garden furniture on the terrace. There is an attractive summer house in the garden. A cedar wood state-of-the-art all weather barrel sauna is situated on the terrace with easy access to the house. It seats six people and can be used for dry heat or with water over the coals for steam heat.
Accommodation
Bedrooms - one double bedroom with a double bed and extra divan, wash basin and mirror and a built in hanging cupboard and drawers. Two twin bedded rooms, one with twin beds with two divans plus a hidden bed under one of the divans which can pull out to form a double bed. Another twin bedded room with two divans, this bedroom also has a built in hanging cupboard with drawers. There are two single comfortable zed beds in the hall that can be moved to any suitable location.
There is an attractive bathroom with bath, wash basin, shaver point and w.c. and a hand shower tap fitting. There is also a second bathroom with mixer shower, small wash basin and w.c.
The sitting room is a beautiful room with a view of the countryside through the glass door and windows. It has a modern wood burning stove with brick chimney piece, a comfortable three piece suite and two extra comfortable chairs. In the dining alcove is a table and chairs for six to eight people and a serving hatch from the kitchen. There is a music centre, colour TV and radio. A DVD player is available on request.
The kitchen is very well equipped with electric cooker, dishwasher, washing machine, tumble dryer, fridge/freezer, microwave, electric kettle, coffee machine, toaster and iron and ironing board. The breakfast alcove has a table and seats for six people.

Oast House with private jacuzzi - Sleeps 7 to 12
This is a 'Fairy Tale' house with private jacuzzi, set in the extensive grounds of the manor house.
It consists of two large round towers, which were originally used for drying hops for beer making during the late 19th century. A large extra barn was added to store grain in the early 1900s and then it was converted to a house in 1911. The two towers were divided in halves, providing two large circular upstairs bedrooms, and two large downstairs reception rooms. The added 'barn area' now forms an attractive double bedroom upstairs, with bathroom and another small bedroom and separate w.c.
Downstairs a really delightful kitchen. Also downstairs is a shower room and cloakroom with w.c. and washbasin.
There is a spa bath/jacuzzi in a cabin in the garden, which is solely for the use of those staying in the Oast House. This state-of-the-art spa bath seats 4-6 people and the temperature is constantly maintained at 35C so it's always ready to use.
Ground Floor
Circular dining room unusual furniture which includes two curved tables fitting the rounds, and a circular table in the centre (16 to 20 people can be seated at these tables), chairs of course complete the scene. There is also a settee that opens into a 4ft double bed. There is also a comfortable inflatable double bed that can be used as required in any of the rooms.
Circular living room with attractive working fireplace. Comfortable chairs, card table, music centre, colour TV and radio. A DVD player is available on request. There is a door out onto the patio and garden.
A delightful 'country style' kitchen. At one end stands a stripped pine dresser, which displays the china you use and in the centre is a magnificent light oak table that can seat 12. There are five windows (one in front of the sink) that give you a constant view of the green outdoors. On the practical side there is a double oven electric cooker, fridge freezer, washing machine, tumble dryer, dishwasher, microwave filter coffee machine and iron and ironing board. Outside the back door is a large built-in barbecue.
There is a ground floor shower room with good mixer shower and wash basin. There is also a separate cloakroom with toilet and wash basin.
Upstairs
- Bedroom 1: enormous circular bedroom with magnificent four-poster bed
- Bedroom 2: another enormous circular room with one double bed and two single beds
- Bedroom 3: room with twin beds plus a divan
- Bedroom 4: the smallest of the bedrooms, this has a single bed
The bathroom has a wash basin, shaver point, toilet and bath. The bath has a hand held shower attached to the taps. There is also another cloakroom with wash basin and w.c. There is one extra folding bed available on this floor. Hair dryer, iron, radios and usually an extra T.V. are all provided.
Rental of the Oast House includes use of the indoor heated swimming pool and use of your own private jacuzzi.
Gate Cottage - Sleeps 4 to 6
This tile-hung cottage is very small and was originally built in 1911 for the coachman. It has its own peaceful, large garden.

- Living room with working fireplace, and 2.5 seater settee that folds down into a 4' bed. There is a music centre, colour TV and radio. A DVD player is available on request
- Dining room with table that seats up to 6

Manor Estate Facilities
Modern indoor swimming pool in an exotic greenhouse. You will be swimming surrounded by beautiful plants and flowers in a most unusual setting, maintained all year round. For the summer, there is a patio at the far end looking out onto the orchard, with umbrella, tables and chairs.
A sauna/jacuzzi is available to those staying at all the properties on the estate (the Oast House has its own private jacuzzi. Part of the outbuildings adjacent to the main house have been converted into an unusual sauna and spa pool. The sauna has an electric sauna stove and is big enough for 4-6 people. The spa pool is heated and has jacuzzi hydro-massage jets, and is also big enough for 6 people. In addition, there is a w.c. and a £1 meter for the use of these facilities (average cost about £1 - £2 per session).
The whole estate comprises 28 acres in all. Some extra charges may apply for additional electricity, linen and cleaning.
