This magnificent 'stately home' is set in exotically planted grounds and offers charming period accommodation along with a super modern kitchen and 'state of the art' bathrooms.
The Manor House has lots of character with its beautifully tiled hallway, etched glass panels, corniced ceilings, heavy panelled doors, fantastic fireplaces and grand staircase. The lovely hallway, four reception rooms, panelled games room, four en-suite and four other bedrooms, dining kitchen and wonderful family bathrooms make this an exceptional retreat.
Built in the 1800's, the house is just a 15 minutes drive to Matlock, Bakewell and the wonderful Peak District National Park. All the myriad of attractions in the rest of beautiful Derbyshire together with Nottinghamshire and the surrounding towns and cities are equally easy to reach. Nottingham is about 40 minutes away by car.

The Self Catering Manor House
The Manor is set in 6 acres of grounds, including its own private woodland and quarry. The interior boasts many original period features and until recently renovated had remained largely untouched for the past 100 years.
The accommodation is spacious and fully restored to its former glory, with marble fireplaces and original servants bells in every room. There are open fireplaces that can be used in several of the downstairs rooms: lounge, drawing room, and dining room.
Drawing Room
The Drawing Room leads directly to the garden and is a wonderful place to read quietly whilst you watch children playing outside, or to contemplate whilst watching nature at its best.
Lounge
The Lounge has splendid views over the garden through a wonderful Bay Window. The floor is original stripped pine and there is a large TV & DVD. Wireless internet access is available from the lounge, drawing room and inner hallway.
Dining Room
The Dining Room is huge, seating 30 people quite comfortably; a window seat enables you sit in the warm sunshine to look through the huge windows across the fields. There is a piano and a pianola - only usually seen in Westerns - a piano that can play itself !
Games Room
The Games Room has a colonial feel, with oak panelling and pool table.
Kitchen
The large Kitchen has an integrated fridge/freezer, microwave, coffee maker and double oven & hob and washing machine. There is an Aga, which gives the room a cosy feel. The original servant bells can be seen here too.
Boot Room
The Porter's Lodge acts now as a Boot Room, somewhere to hang your coats and put your muddy boots after a day's walking in the wonderful countryside nearby.
The Bedrooms
The Manor has been designed to sleep a maximum of 16 adults. There are 2 bathrooms, one of which acts as an en-suite to the Master Suite. 4 bedrooms are en-suite.
The sleeping accommodation comprises briefly:
- Master Suite - large ensuite bedroom with bath and shower, double wash basins and fireplace, also acts as bathroom from corridor, king size bed, large bay window with South facing views over gardens and into woods
- Purple Room - ensuite with shower, with double bed, views to the garden
- Gold Room - ensuite with bath, with double bed with South facing views over gardens and into woods
- Green Room - double bed, with views over the paddock towards Wessington
- White Room - ensuite with shower, with double bed, with views over the paddock towards Wessington
- Yellow Room - 2nd floor bedroom with 3 single beds and South facing views over the gardens and into the woods
- Garden Room - 2nd floor room with 2 single beds and South facing views over the gardens and into the woods
- Apple Room - 2nd floor rooom which can be used as a single adult room but low headroom, also with views over the garden into the woods
