This large cottage is in a fantastic idyllic location, set in over an acre of gardens directly adjoining the New Forest itself with direct forest access.
The cottage was converted from a vinery and still features the original iron-work and characterful wooden boarding in parts that were once the gardeners potting sheds. The living spaces are in the vinery part, with beautiful views across the large garden from both the lounge and dining room.
From the garden gate, you are straight into the forest and can walk for miles on forest paths without seeing a car all day long, just ponies, deer, other walkers and cyclists! The nearest villages have plenty of pubs, restaurants, coffee shops and small supermarkets. For more action, Bournemouth and Southampton are about a 30 minute drive away.
The Hub of the House
Dining Room
The dining room is central in the cottage with a good sized dining table for up to 14 guests and fantastic views across the garden.
Lounge
Through an opening at one end of the dining room is the lounge, which is also part of the original vinery and has similar views over the back garden, with a door to the large side garden. This comfortable room has plenty of contemporary armchairs and settees, a television, video and DVD player, plus a gas flame stove.
Kitchen
At the other end of the dining room, a similar opening leads into the kitchen. The kichen is fully equipped with all the cooking and dining equipment you'll need for your break. The freestanding stainless steel kitchen units provide ample worksurfaces and storage. There is a gas cooker, a large freestanding fridge/freezer, a dishwasher and a washing machine. There's even air-conditioning in here too if cooking gets hot in the summer!
Bedrooms
This large cottage has three bedrooms, each normally arranged with a double bed and two singles, and a fourth small bunk bedded room, with full sized adult bunk beds. There's some flexibility for groups whose requirements differ slightly. Three of the bedrooms are off the entrance hall, each with different aspects and character, and the largest one is separate, off the lounge at the end of the cottage. The two bedrooms with the original 'bead and butt' timber boarding have great character.
Bathrooms
There are two large shower rooms in the cottage, each with glazed shower door and electric thermostatic showers, a basin and WC. Both the bathrooms are lit from above which makes for lovely light rooms without needing to close curtains. Each has a heated towel rail.
