Plus, most accommodation options are super central and also within walking distance for all your nights out, making it easy and cheap to get back home.  We have tonnes of Brighton stag do ideas for you to choose from, so let us know what you're interested in and we'll help plan you an unforgettable weekend.

Brighton Stag Accommodation

Brighton Stag Do Accommodation

Brighton boasts a huge amount of large accommodation options for stag groups. Directly situated in the heart of Brighton are some of the cities best self catering options that are conveniently located just steps away from Brighton's best restaurants and drinking holes. The best part about renting one of these properties is the large communal spaces which are perfect for dining together, playing games and celebrating your stag do.

For bigger stag groups the Brighton Pavilion Gatehouse is our top recommendation as it can sleep over 30 guests in single beds. Plus, it's directly opposite the Royal Pavilion and minutes walking distance to Kemptown and Brighton’s North Laine for all your evening needs.

WHY HAVE A STAG DO IN BRIGHTON?

We at Adventure Connections consider ourselves local experts when it comes to stag do planning in Brighton because our office is located just outside of the city. Brighton may be a small coastal city, but it’s crammed with tasty eateries and pop-up street food stalls, quirky pubs featuring an impressive line-up of local craft ales, and a serious selection of action-packed activities. You'll find all the very best Brighton stag do ideas right here.

Brighton has hosted hundreds of thousands of stag weekends over the years and is notoriously a vibrant place to party. It has all your expected seaside luxuries including all the fish and chips you can eat and an abundance of beachside bars and clubs to soak up the sun with a cold beer in hand.

In addition to all of the beach-time leisure, the city is home to the American Express Stadium and the legendary Brighton & Hove Albion Football Club (BHAFC). The AMEX stadium is an easy and cheap 10 minute train ride away and a great stag activity option for football fanatics. You'll be pleased to know that Brighton is full of sports bars for your daily fix – catch up on the scores over a couple of pints, a game of pool and a round of darts.

For a relatively small city, Brighton sure punches far above its weight when it comes to local spots to drink and dance the night away. The quirky North Laine and Lanes are made up of winding twittens with small independent stores and many traditional pubs - perfect for a pub crawl. Later in the night when you want a to hit the clubs, West Street and Brighton Seafront are going to be the best destinations for the biggest and loudest clubbing experiences. You've also got Kemptown and London Road for even more local craft beer pubs, chic bars, live music venues, and more dining options than you can handle.

The absolute best part about a Brighton stag do is that the city is small enough that you will be able to walk between all the areas mentioned above, or a cheap and short Uber will take you to your next destination within minutes.

Top Brighton stag do activities to experience

Any time that the sun is out you’re going to want to take full advantage of being by the seaside. First up is Brighton’s watersports centre where your stag group can take part in a plethora of water based activities. Wakeboarding is a popular choice for stags as this not only can be catered for all abilities, but is both challenging and thrilling. If you need a water activity that isn’t so intense (perhaps after a big night out), stand-up paddleboarding or kayaking are great choices. For the thrill-seekers you’ll want to hire jet skis or try your hand at windsurfing. Don’t worry if you can’t choose between them all, you can book onto multiple sessions as most of these activities all take place at the same watersports centre.

Next up, an excellent and relatively inexpensive stag activity is volleyball. Book a court, grab a beer and serve up your mates on the dedicated sandy courts. It’s right on the beach front so you can even have a BBQ on the beach before or after.

A short minibus or drive outside Brighton city lies two of Brighton’s best stag activities. Indoor Karting is a classic stag activity and always delivers maximum fun. It’s ultra-competitive and you’ll be racing for the quickest lap in high-octane electric karts around a 450 metre track. These reach top speeds much quicker than the petrol karts - trust us, we’ve tried them!

Alternatively, soak up the sun with the one-of-a-kind Brighton Outdoor Karting experience. This track boasts an 800 metre track and you’ll be part of a grand prix style event in fast and furious 270cc karts competing for top spot. Both indoor and outdoor karting experiences are approximately a 20-30 minute drive out the city and are perfect for the adrenaline junkie stag groups.

If you’ve got your main Brighton stag activities sorted but need some light entertainment to keep yourselves entertained and the budget in check, a Comedy Show is a hilarious choice with both local and UK wide stand-ups, and get a cheeky burger and pint whilst you’re at it.  For those that want a different kind of challenge, Brighton boasts several different Escape Rooms all with their own unique set of trials.

Alternative Stag Do Activities in Brighton

  1. Footgolf - Taking the UK by storm, footgolf is by far one of the most popular stag activities on offer right now. No stamina is needed for this one, just a big punt of the ball, as some accuracy to finesse the ball into the hole.
  2. Bubble Football - A popular sporting stag activity for footie and non-footie fans alike. Hilarious fun with plenty of bounces and bumps.
  3. It's a Knockout! - A mixture of games from our favourite TV show will bring out your competitive side! Slip, slide, duck and dive in our mini-games and compete among yourselves and other stag groups.

Brighton isn’t short on pubs. In fact, there are over 400 pubs in Brighton – you could go on a ten bar pub crawl every night for two weeks and you’d still not have visited them all. Though the price of a pint can be pretty steep, the cost of a stag weekend in Brighton is made up for with the energetic and vibrant atmosphere.

Brighton Stag Do Guide - Areas of Brighton

WHERE ARE THE BEST NIGHTLIFE SPOTS IN BRIGHTON?

1) The Lanes & North Laine

Brighton’s central Lanes and North Laine are where your stag group is likely to spend the majority of its time eating and drinking. Full of winding twittens, small quirky stores, and more pubs than you can count of three pairs of hands, this area is a nightlife hotspot.

2) Kemptown

Kemptown is one of Brighton’s coolest neighbourhoods. Located on Brighton’s Eastern seafront, you’ll find plenty of beachside bars and small craft beer pubs to crawl along to, plus some of Brighton's best grassroot venues with live music and DJ sets.

3) West Street

Renowned for its party atmosphere, West Street has some of the biggest and liveliest bars and clubs in Brighton including PRYZM and Molly Malones, the Irish Tavern. West Street is about as central in the city as you can be, directly next to the beach and minutes from The Lanes & North Laines.

4) Brighton Seafront

Brighton’s waterfront district is littered with beachside pubs, bars and clubs. During the summer it’s absolutely packed and the perfect place for a stag group to enjoy an ice cold beer in the sun. You could easily spend your entire afternoon or evening here, and many of the bars have DJ sets or live music taking place in the early afternoon on the weekends. If you’re planning your Brighton stag do on a bank holiday or summer month, you’ll want to reserve some tables in advance to avoid disappointment. Worst case scenario, plastic cups or cans and sit on Brighton’s pebble beach.

5) London Road

London Road is another hugely popular area for nightlife particularly with the younger generation and Brighton student population,  and some seriously impressive craft beers. It’s an easy 5-10 minute walk from Brighton Station. We recommend visiting The World’s End for their vegan nommy menu and upstairs arcade room featuring an impressive scalextric track to bring back those childhood memories.

6) Brighton Marina

For a more sophisticated evening, jump in an Uber or number 7 bus down to Brighton Marina. Here you’ll find your classic fine dining restaurants, a few low key pub settings including a Wetherspoons for some lighter spending, as well as a bowling alley and casino for some additional fun. You likely won’t find the lively Brighton atmosphere here, but it’s a nice trip all the same away from the hustle and bustle of the city centre.

Must see attractions and sights on your Brighton stag do

Traditional sightseeing may not be at the top of your Brighton stag agenda, but we'd encourage you to pass by some of the cities well-loved sights for some added culture. The Brighton i360 is one of Brighton's newest tourist attractions located on the seafront. It's pretty hard to miss because it's a moving observation tower that stands a staggering 450ft tall. Take a ride up the i360 and see Brighton in it's entirety from a bird's eye perspective.

Continue East along the beachfront parade (and many beach bars) to reach the Brighton Palace Pier. Standing proudly since 1899, the pier is home to fairground rides and a few restaurants and bars. It makes for a nice wander in the sun with some chips if you have some time to spare.

Perhaps the most famous historical attraction in the very centre of Brighton is the Royal Pavilion. A grade II listed former royal residence to King George IV - because everybody needs their seaside retreat.

From the world famous Royal palace to one of the most popular piers in the country, there are hundreds of activities in Brighton that will keep your stag group interested and entertained whatever the weather, and whatever the season. Brighton is a city that is open year round. So if you require a little culture and a lot of fun for your stag weekend then Brighton has plenty to go around.

What is the best way to travel around Brighton?

Brighton is a relatively small city which means it’s absolutely brilliant for short and sweet stag weekends, and for travelling around. For all your nightlife and eating needs you will more than likely be able to walk everywhere. If walking is out of the question then Uber and taxis will be reliable companions for your trip. Brighton also has a really good network of buses that are incredibly frequent across the city, and one central train station for easy access from London.

If you’re feeling adventurous and want to see the local sights or work your quads and take a fresh cycle along the seafront, Brighton benefits from a BikeShare scheme. You can find these e-bikes across this city at different hubs. You’ll just need to download and sign up to an app to use these.

Four Tips for planning your stag do in Brighton

  1. Keep costs down with a big food shop. Split that shopping bill between your group and it will work out as pocket change. There are both big and small supermarkets located all over Brighton. Kemptown has a large Morrisons, London Road has Aldi and a big Sainsburys.
  2. The cost of a pint in Brighton is around the £5 mark in most pubs.
  3. The Brighton North Laine and Lanes are full of unique independent stores and perfect for exploring when you've got some free time.
  4. Brighton's busyness will vary a lot depending on what time of year you choose to visit. If you're planning your Brighton stag do during one of the city's massive festivals such as PRIDE or Brighton Fringe, accommodation will book up very quickly in advance and also likely be more expensive.
