So is anyone planning corporate events in 09
Well it goes without saying the corporate events market is currently in an unprecedented state. Negative media coverage suggests if a company enjoys itself then they should be sent straight to the bowels of hell.
But really are we not all trying to improve a work life balance, isn’t the idea of working for a successful company a way to go on great events and enjoy the perks, health, holiday entitlements, sick pay and enjoy a day out which is not paid by you?
Spin it around, if a company does not offer perks are they not a very good company to work for? Just imagine working for a company for 10 years without having one social outing, a pretty boring affair, literally!
Happy staff or dog’s dinner
A corporate event is to show staff they mean something to the company, a great event will have the team talking about it for a long time, however a really bad event will have the team talk about it forever, ‘do you remember the day out we had in 1982, 1 drink each the venue smelt and the buffet wasn’t fit for the dog’, maybe a little exaggerated but you get the idea.
Additionally when things look brighter, if a company has looked after its core then the core will have the knowledge and experience to hit the ground running, the staff will know how hard the company worked to keep motivation high and everyone together, they will be in the position to lead from the front, with a dedicated team dynamic who have enjoyed a great day out!
So what we say is yes, clever companies are planning events in 09, are you one of them?
