Treasure Hunt
Treasure hunts are fun, and a great way to explore city centres. If you need a great idea for a day out that everyone has an active role in the activities success then a treasure hunt is perfect!
So what does a Treasure Hunt involve?
Teams on the treasure hunt earn points by solving clues to find places and answer questions, and by completing a variety of tasks. The clues are observational, and educative, and some are cryptic. They are not simply a list of questions which could be answered by looking in a guidebook! Teams need to use their creativity and initiative. Specific items may need to be collected to win extra points.
The treasure hunt group assembles for introductions and a briefing on the Treasure Hunt rules. The participants divide into teams, and are provided with files containing everything necessary in order to complete the hunt:
- Treasure Hunt in several parts
- Customised maps of the area to be covered
- City maps
- Pens, paper, folders
- Other items as required, e.g. bus passes, entrance tickets, cameras
They re-assemble after the allotted time, and hand in their files to the guide for marking, or teams can mark each others. When completed, the guide explains the answers, announces the winners and presents the prizes.
Bespoke Treasure Hunt
Each Treasure Hunt is compiled specifically to your requirements whether the aim is team building, social, reward and recognition or simply for fun!
As a guide, around three hours allows time for the treasure hunt itself, the briefing beforehand and the meeting together at the end to announce the winners, but this is completely flexible.
