Multi Activity Country Pursuits Days Out

Welcome to our Country pursuits page, on this page you will see a number of the 'highest quality' multi off road and country sports activities which make for a great day out. The activities are located throughout the UK and this page is just to offer a flavour! For information or advice on any of the options below please contact the office either by phone or via the enquiry button - don't forget to let us know which activities you are interested in!

To offer some guidance, if you have a small group; 8-10, then you can opt for just one activity, however if your groups bigger then opt for 2 options, it provides a much better experience and keeps the group on the activities all the time. Always think about archery, pistol, sniper shooting, axe or knife throwing or obstacle courses as these always add to the experience, they also only add £10-£20 to the overall costs but really make the difference.

Most of the activities are on a 'slot ' format ie, 2-3 hours per group depending on what you opt for, this can be altered for larger groups and corporate clients, but remember if you have a small group and only want 1 option then the time will reflect this.

The Activities

4X4 off road driving

Using technical courses, safari courses or even blind fold driving, 4x4 tests driving ability and often surprises at how encapsulating the experience becomes. The 4x4 vehicles are very easy to drive, we always supply an instructor to help with tuition and you will be surprised at exactly what the vehicles can actually do.

Most venues have specialised circuits developed to test individuals which involve going over, round and even through obstacles, other tracks will be a natural environment from easy to extreme in the case of mountainous destinations!

The 4x4's have 1 instructor and 3 participants so even if you are not driving you are still taking part with some hearty and helpful comments.

ATV Quad biking

Quad bike rambles, obstacle or time trials. Don't be fooled these atv bikes really are the real deal, capable of going almost anywhere a 4x4 off vehicle can!

So many different types of circuits and so many different types of quad bikes, custom built quad biking tracks always include plenty of ups and downs to master. Safari courses will involve going on designated tracks through woods, forests or tracks across mountain paths (green lanes). Sometimes fast and sometimes slow but guaranteed there will always be plenty of mud!

Because of the nature of quad biking most safari venues operate a 1-5 instructor ratio, some man made ATV tracks have 15-20 quads on track at any one time.

Clay shooting

On arrival all shooters receive hearing protection and a full and thorough safety briefing. Extensive one-to-one instruction is received whilst each shooter is at the traps, ensuring that all participants reap the thrill of hitting the clay. The sessions include the clays leaving the traps simulating a variety of different bird flights. Your group will have a practise session, followed by a friendly competition to discover who is the best shot of the day.

Many different packages available from so many different clay shooting or Skeet venues across the UK.

Hover Craft Flying

Hovercraft flying is not as easy as it sounds. After being kitted out with all the necessary safety gear, pilots are given brief but thorough instructions on how to operate the craft and then try it out for themselves. Lighter people may require the instructor to fly with them as body weight is used for steering.

Some tracks require great skill in order to navigate twists and turns, some venues have water features, but you will be required to reach a suitable standard before water flying can be achieved. Not all venues have water features.

Off road go karting and dirt buggies

There are so many different types of 'off road dirt buggies', and we know them all!

The standard corporate entertainment version would be either called grass karts or Gemini karts, these have a full harnesses and roll cage, generally 400cc 0-60 in around 5-6 seconds, brilliant fun and 99% perfect for stag and hen groups as they are easy to drive!

Next version up the board would be a Rage off road kart - very fast with a 600cc engine strapped to the back, once again all the safety equipment to keep you in the off road buggy. Capable of 0-60 in around 3.5 seconds on a tarmac track! Don't forget you will be driving on either a mud or gravel track so do not anticipate maxing out on the speed aspects, we would suggest concentrating on learning new off road driving skills to keep these impressive vehicles going in the direction you want them too. Hold on your in for a wild ride!

Now step up to the plate if you want the ultimate off road kart racing option, the Apache off road racer has a 750cc engine launching the vehicle at way past most drivers ability. One to one instruction and some help with the gears in this buggy! 0-60 in whatever, 'totally irrelevant' as you can use all the power of the vehicle, just by slightly pressing the accelerator and you are facing the wrong direction!

Honda pilots, Quad Zillas, Patriots are some more great buggies offering different types of experiences, The Quad zilla and Patriot are twin seater (same as the Apache), different options at different venues - and believe us when we say not all the venues are the same!

So how many karts are on the track at any one time? Great question! As a general rule - off road Gemini's from 2-5, Rage 2-6, Honda pilots, Zillas, Patriots 2 ish. Apache - 1, what do you expect, health and safety is paramount -although the sites have more than 1 Apache they will be run on a time trail basis as it's just too dangerous to have inexperienced drivers passing each other at the speeds the vehicle is capable of!

All of the above depends on group size and the dynamic of the group - motorsport is dangerous!

Archery

An activity that appeals to everyone (including complete beginners), whether your interest is history, sport, teambuilding, learning a great new skill or simply for fun. You will receive an introduction to archery kit and equipment, tuition on technique, opportunity to try different types of bows, distances, and a little archery competition is a firm favourite to finish off the experience.

Axe and knife throwing

Discover our Viking ancestors' favourite sports - and the satisfaction of a blade thwacking into timber! We supply the weapons, plus all the supervision, tuition and competitions you need for an unforgettable and fun event. A unique test of accuracy and nerve with knives with rigid blades, single and double-edged axes.

Powerturns

Imagine a vehicle with no steering wheel, two engines that wheelie spins on the spot and power slides round corners.

Exhilarating and requires communication between the two drivers who each have one of the two engine controls.

The Powerturn is a completely new type of driving experience. It's two drive wheels are 'powered' at different speeds by two engines to make the Power turn 'turn'. It is also the first vehicle that anyone can wheelie safely even around corners and can often be driven round a track quicker than a conventionally steered vehicle - but it's also great fun sliding and spinning it in all directions.

Why is the power turn such a thrilling ride?

You can move through more angles with more speed than anything else you can control yourself and your body soon works out that this is something very different. The extra movement dimension, acceleration and cornering potential provide greater excitement all at lower speeds than many conventional vehicles.

How do you drive the powerturn?

Controlling a Powerturn is much more of a challenging and rewarding experience than turning yet another steering wheel or pair of handlebars, most people pick it up quite quickly. Because the vehicles weight is all on its two drive wheels, traction is superb and with knobbly tyres it can be used even in very slippery or muddy conditions.

Air gun and Sniper shooting

There's more to the target shooting than you may at first think. This is a fim favourite for the competitive people amongst the groups, hitting the target is all you can focus on! And believe us this is definitely one of the activities that just gets talked about over and over again in the pub.

If you want a truly Rambo experience then opt for a more through sniper shooting experience.

An intense 'all you ever wanted to know', training day plus mission with a deadly focus on delivering that perfect head shot hit on enemy targets; whether it's a world leader, a Vietnamese army general, a terrorist or simply your local traffic warden.

We will guide you through and intensive, step-by-step day of adventure in the following snipering disciplines: Tracking & silent movement Camouflage Signalling to other team members The Sniper Gun + Scope familiarisation Body Posture + Sniper Rifle Stability Accuracy using Breathing + trigger pressure Spotting & Wind Conditions. After a comprehensive briefing back at H.Q, you will then take part in a controlled 'Near Real' mission in our 'killing Fields Sniper Zone'. This specially designed combat zone will test your newly acquired skills to the full. The instructor will be there at all times to grade your performance and give you the occasional hint or tip to guide you through the more difficult parts of the enemy territory. Alternatively we run "close quarter training" which is totally absorbing and gives you real time hostage and protection scenario's.

Paintballing

Still a hugely popular outdoor sport! On a paintball day you receive all the equipment you need, + 100 paintballs. So many different paint ball scenarios for the novice to the super experienced. Many sites offer a number of different activities along your traditional paintball as it breaks up the day.

Obstacle courses, survival and boot camp

Military introduction Camouflage Kit and helmet hand out. Army style assault course. Tyre challenge. Rifle run and shoot Each event may change according to weather conditions and physical condition of the competitors!

Max cats

6 wheel drive, skid steer, stick controlled and amphibious! What more can you say, these machines are 500cc, powerful and like mini tanks with minds of their own.

Get to grips with the controls and then point and drive! These machines are capable of driving virtually anywhere and with you at the helm, that's probably a good thing!!
