Whisky is made as far a field as Japan, America and New Zealand, but Scotland's Single Malts hold the strongest reputation. Explore the wide gamut of aromas and flavours of Scotch Whisky. Your Whisky expert will bring to life the history of Scotch Whisky and how it is made. Through diverse tastes your tutor will help you identify aromas and explain the effect of extended ageing and why one Whisky tastes different from another. This is a seriously fun and entertaining event for the Scotch Whisky drinker.
Private Whisky Tasting Experience
Whether you're a whisky connoisseur or just a novice, you'll enjoy this experience!
Following a fully-guided Private Whisky Tour, you'll be escorted to a private function room to commence the Tasting. A 'Sensory Perception Quiz' is a fun ice breaker and group activity to get the Whisky Tasting started, with a prize awarded for the most accurate answers to an aroma test.
The knowledgeable whisky expert will then give you all the opportunity to nose and taste 4 single malt whiskies from the four main whisky producing regions of Scotland; Lowlands, Highlands, Speyside and Islay. Together, youwill be tutored through the five stages of 'appreciating' Scotch Whisky; colour, body, nose, palate and finish. Whiskies are selected to illustrate regional differences, wood finishes, differing ages of maturation and methods of production.
Before you leave, everyone receives an exclusive Scotch Whisky Experience whisky miniature.
The Whisky Tour & Tasting will last approximately 2 hours.
